A Lifetime of Service to the RGV
Dr. Laura Cisneros is a Mother, a physician, cancer specialist, caregiver, and proud daughter of Brownsville who has dedicated her life to serving others. For more than 30 years, she has worked alongside patients and families during some of the most difficult moments of their lives, including over two decades treating individuals battling cancer.
Raised in Brownsville, Dr. Cisneros learned early the values of faith, family, hard work, and service to community. Although her education and medical training took her across the country — including studies at the University of Illinois, medical school at the Universidad Autónoma de Tamaulipas, and advanced training at the University of Kansas Medical Center — her heart always remained in the Rio Grande Valley. Sixteen years ago, she returned home to continue caring for the community she loves.
Throughout her medical career, Dr. Cisneros has listened to families in crisis, comforted patients facing illness, and helped people navigate life-changing decisions with compassion and integrity. Those experiences shaped her belief that leadership should be rooted in honesty, transparency, accountability, and respect for everyday families.
In addition to her medical practice, Dr. Cisneros has been involved in community issues and has worked to improve the quality of life for residents throughout the RGV.
Guided by conservative values and a strong belief in personal responsibility and freedom, Dr. Cisneros is running to bring a servant-leader’s perspective to Austin and fight for the people of House District 38.
